WINEMAKER NOTES:
Velvety purple-red in color, the nose is redolent of forest berries, particularly raspberry
and blueberry, dusted with warming spice. The palate is brimming with soft juicy fruit, blueberries and mulberries predominate, with hints of star anise, angelica and
fennel seed. The finish is clean and satisfying, leaving you wanting more. It is a blend of Tempranillo (lifted red berry spiciness), Grenache (juicy
raspberry), and Mourvedre (brooding dusty dark berries). It is a spicy, delicious fruit bomb of a wine that is designed for drinking over the next few years with full
flavored Mediterranean foods and exuberant company.

Tempranillo:
Many think that Tempranillo originated in northern Spain. Tempranillo is found in northern and
central Spain especially in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavea regions, in northern and southeast Portugal in the Alentejo and Douro regions, and in southern France in the
Midi/Aude region. It is an important variety in Argentina, and is also planted in California and Australia. Tempranillo grapes provide a deeply colored, dry,
long-lived wine with moderate levels of acid and alcohol. Because its taste is relatively neutral it is often blended with
Cabernet Sauvignon,
Grenache, and Merlot, and lesser known varieties.
