Chardonnay  2005

Layers of fruit exude from the aromas. Apple and pear, citrus, peach and mango are evident. Butter toast and biscuit notes provide a round mouth-feel.

Viognier 2005

"Big Stone Fruits - peaches, nectarines and apricots are typical aromas for this vineyard and growing region. The wine is loaded with great flavors such as cream soda and bright peaches, which linger all the way through to the finish - WOW!"     Winemaker Lee Nesbitt

Silver Nectar  2005

"The 2005 Silver Nectar exceeded my expectations with its great floral aromas, honey, peach and apricot flavors and its firm acid finish. I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with the Torrontes grape and further from our winery's relationships in Argentina." Winemaker Lee Nesbitt

Pinot Noir Central Coast 2004

This voluptuous Pinot Noir offers big aromas of red strawberries, cola, vanilla, cedar and anise, wrapped in cloves and dusted with cocoa powder. Well structured acids balance the bold, rich and intense berry flavors, leaving a rich finish on the palate.

Merlot  2004

Chumeia is proud to present this Merlot. As Winemaker Lee Nesbitt puts it, "This isn't a wimpy Merlot, it is the best one I have made and it's a big one." It begins with aromas of plum, cedar, bright cherries and strawberries followed by a smooth and silky flavor that is balanced by bold tannins and a fruit driven finish. After the wine is gone, the fruit flavors linger and you're still feeling the impact of the tannins.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 This is a lot of Cabernet for the price—it demonstrates aromas of lush cherries, mint and a floral/herbal quality in the beginning. This beginning leads you to hints of raspberry, oak, cedar and Bing cherry flavors ending with a finish that is dramatic with big tannins, dark chocolate, coffee and a long lingering finish that stays with you. Bronze Medal - San Francisco International.

A Little Chumeia History

In 1999 Chumeia Vineyards was formed with the purchase of 20 acres of land eight miles east of the Central Coast city of Paso Robles, California. Lee Nesbitt’s dream of building a winery was coming to fruition. In June of 2000 ground was broken and construction was underway. It took just over 90 days to construct a 5,400 square foot facility with a capacity to produce over 7,500 cases. That fall, the winery was ready to receive its first load of fruit on the new crush pad just twenty minutes prior to receiving the temporary occupancy permit from the Fire Department.

In May of 2001 the tasting room doors opened to the public and wines were introduced to the United States and beyond. The wines garnered great success with wine critics and more importantly with consumers, building customer loyalty based on the delivered promise of exceptional wines for the right price.
