WINEMAKER NOTES
This is an extremely fruit forward, user-friendly wine. It has a brilliant pale straw color. The delicate fruit aromas and flavors in this
wine were captured during an extended, cold stainless steel fermentation. This handcrafted wine separates itself stylistically from all other Sauvignon Blanc wines
currently on the market. It combines a mineral quality with intense tropical and spicy aromas and flavors. Spiciness is another descriptor for the classic
herbaceous/cut-grass/gooseberry style made popular by New Zealand wineries. All the Burford and Brown wines must be Varietal distinct, so some aromas/flavors consisting
of the above should be present, however, not dominating. We are proud to say that there is no other blend in the market right now like this one. This wine has the
following composition of grapes: 35% Lake County,
30% Mendocino County,
30% Suisun Valley and
5% from Lodi.
ACCOLADES
Wine Enthusiast - Best Buy
(9/1/2007)
"With a greenish tinge to the straw color, this is an ultra dry, very crisp wine, especially notable
for terrifically clean vibrancy. Blended with 5% Verdelho, it shows strong lemongrass, grapefruit, wildflower, candied ginger, spice and mineral flavors that finish
impressively long. Easily one of the best value priced wines of the year".
