WINEMAKER NOTES
This Zinfandel exhibits a brilliant brick red almost black color with an intense violet tinge. It has the classic spice and succulence associated with the variety. Soft and integrated, this wine over delivers with an extremely rich and balanced mouth feel along with integrated tannins.  An incredible value for the price.   2800 cases produced.

It is winemaker Peter Burford’s first release of an Amador appellation Zin. Burford sourced the fruit from ten-year-old vines, in the Wildwood Vineyard, located just outside of Fiddletown at an elevation of 4,000-feet.

ZINFANDEL NOTE

It was recently discovered that both the Primitivo grape of Southern Italy and California's ZInfandel grape are identical to a Croatian variety known as Crljenak Kastelanski. Before this connection was made, there were only 20 vines of the Croatian grape known to exist. Now it is under quarantine at U.C. Davis and will be made available to growers in three to five years.
