From Homps, Minervois

|
The Aude River and the Canal du Midi borders the entire
Minervois wine region. Homps is an appealing village fronting the canal, with good boating facilities, a range of good restaurants where local wines can be
enjoyed and a 12th century Romanesque chapel.
La Port Minervois is typically welcoming and enjoys an active local life. A great place to debark and stretch the legs and a great base from which to tour the
Minervois.
Here you are on the foothills of the Montagne Noir (Black Mountain) and Minerve (one of the most beautiful villages in France) is an easy 15 minutes drive. Lake
Louarres (Lac Louarres) is within walking distance, and the large village of Olonzac joins the port by a short bicycle ride on a little country road through the
vineyards.

Another attraction on the port is the building called le Chai de Homps. The Minervois is a well established wine region, and here the best wine makers come
together to present their products, warmly welcoming visitors to taste, enjoy and ask about the wines of Minervois and Minervois La Liviničre. The wines of this
sunny region are rich and generous. Le Chai de Homps is a great place to improve one’s wine knowledge. Larent (salesman and professional wine taster) can be
trusted to ensure visitors are provided with the true Minervois wine tasting experience.
