National Sales
Up until now, a winery had three options to sell their products nationally:
-
Do it themselves
- Time Commitment -
Hire a National Sales Manager
- cost commitment, an average national sales manager costs $65,000 a year in salary, for a 20,000 case winery that adds $3.25 a case to cover salary and another $4 in taxes and benefits, a total of $7.25 a case. -
Hire a conglomerate to sell their wines
- Cost to do business is much higher than planned due to their free-goods programs, sales incentives, scan backs, charge backs, etc.
- If they can't sell, you end up holding the inventory.
- You loose control of your brand.
our program
We partner with you to sell your brands. Our small fees amount to a small percentage compared to hiring your own national accounts manager or to hire one of the conglomerates to sell your products.
-
MDM represents a small portfolio, you never "get lost in the book"
-
We hand sell your product
-
MDM has monthly calls with their distributors
-
MDM visits their distributors several times a year to facilitate sales, do ride-alongs, and to train the sales staff on your wines.
-
Costs are shared among the wineries through a small base fee.
-
The balance of your costs are performance based, we are paid a commission on sales. If we don't sell, it does not cost you.
Making the hard decision
Answer these questions:
-
Do you have the time to do it yourself?
-
Do you have the funds and time to manage a national sales manager?
-
Do you have the patience to sit in a conglomerates book and be charged for everything they do?
