Notes: Winemaker
Notes: This wine offers a full body
explosion of dark fruit with vibrant acid,
spice and a complex finish. Winemakers
select blend of 75% Zinfandel and 25% Petite
Sirah from the Ponzo Vineyard, Russian River
Valley. Aged for 16 months. 14.5% Alcohol. 220 cases produced.
Ponzo's Vineyard:
Located in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, Ponzo Vineyard grows
Zinfandel from vines planted around 1920, near the onset of Prohibition.
The climate is cool and mild due to the coastal influences, morning fog, and
breezy conditions. The fruit is dry farmed and grown in sandy loam producing
deeply concentrated fruit.
