WINEMAKER NOTES:
Made using traditional dry wine producing methods, the fruit for this wine is harvested at the peak of ripeness, crushed for
its sweet juices, fermented at low temperatures to preserve the fruit flavors, and then aged in French oak barrels for nine months.
It is an elegant wine with a beautiful deep reddish-purple color and a unique bouquet of rich pomegranate and floral aromas. It has
flavors of cherries with a faint hint of black peppers and a well-balanced, soft finish. It pairs well with Italian cuisine and other full flavored foods. Best served at
a room temperature of 64-68° F.
HEALTH BENEFITS:
In addition to exceptional clarity, rich color and a distinctive and
appealing flavor, Rimon Winery wines also have a hidden bonus: a wealth of vitamins and healing properties. Long recognized for their healthful properties, pomegranates
contain vitamins A, B, and C, iron, calcium and other essential minerals. They are also rich in antioxidants, which are beneficial for blood circulation, and to the
heart. Thus, pomegranates are effective in helping to prevent heart disease and arteriosclerosis, and in easing inflammatory conditions.
According to research recently conducted on pomegranate juice and seed oil by the University of California and the Technion
Institute of Technology in Israel, pomegranates neutralize free radicals three times more than green tea or red wine. According to the study, “If consumed daily
over a long period of time, the powerful antioxidants in pomegranates may help to combat cancer and may also prevent hardening of the arteries.”
